Featured Project – Lenexa Civic Center

Leigh + O’Kane was EOR for this 67,000 sq. ft. government building. This multi-use facility consists of a four-story building that serves as a new city hall for the City of Lenexa on the 4th floor, the 3rd floor serves a higher education tenant, and the 2nd and 1st floors serve a new public market.

Design elements included:

• Design of 90 ft. clear span truss for the new community forum used for all city council sessions
• Design of composite beam and slab floor system for all of the elevated floors
• Design of 100 ft. long pedestrian access tunnel from the parking garage to the lower level of the civic center. Tunnel is 8’-6” wide and 10’-0” tall
• Design of sloping wall with cut-out creating parabolic effect
